I was born in the small town of Brawley, CA and grew up in Calexico, CA and in the Coachella Valley. I attended James Workman Middle School and Cathedral City High School (only because RMHS did not exist!). After High School I moved to Riverside, CA and attended UCR. While at UCR I met WONDERFUL professors that influenced my decision to study Spanish Linguistics. I received by B.A. in Spanish Linguistics and a year later I received by credential from UCR's Graduate School of Education. After a year of working at RMHS, I attended CSUSB and received my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Reading and Language Arts. To my luck, the year I graduated with my credential, RMHS was opening its doors. I have been teaching at RMHS ever since... 2013 the year my life CHANGED. This year will be my 6th year teaching at RMHS. Aside from teaching at RMHS I have taught English classes at College of the Desert
I owe the BEST of my life to RMHS. I have had the opportunity to teach all levels of Spanish (Spanish I- AP Spanish Language and Culture) and I have had the pleasure of working with the best administrators and educators in the valley! I love teaching, it's my passion and I love every student I've taught and am looking forward to getting to know many future students. That's not all that makes my life wonderful and when I say I owe RMHS the best of my life, I really do mean THE BEST. RMHS changed my life. I met my husband, Coach Matthews and now we have our little Baby Matthews, "Tre". Amazing things happen at RMHS, everyday. I hope RMHS is the BEST high school experience you could receive because it surely has been mine!!
See you in the classroom!!
